Head of Primary

Ms. Vanessa Ignas, with 14 years of experience and a Bachelor in Primary Education, is the Head of Primary Campus at Lae International School, a role she's held for the past two years. Having joined the IEA in 2014 through the TIPs program, she has also served as a Classroom Teacher, Mentor, Seven Steps to Writing Coach, and Team Leader within the organization.

As Head of Primary, Ms. Ignas is responsible for providing leadership to teachers and students, ensuring a well-rounded education that prepares students for future success. She collaborates closely with teachers to develop and implement a dynamic curriculum focused on critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning. Beyond academics, she meets with parents to address concerns and works with the wider community to secure educational opportunities and arrange field trips. The school emphasizes character development, fostering respect, empathy, and kindness. The goal is for students to become self-directed, collaborative, ethical, effective communicators, and skilled problem-solvers.

Lae International School believes in nurturing the whole child, offering a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports and music, to explore interests outside the classroom. The Primary Campus program aims to build a strong academic foundation while instilling values and skills for responsible global citizenship.
